Abstract
In the disciplinary scientific debate, it is increasingly being said that the field of urban studies can no longer be separated from a direct approach designed for the place and in the place. The contribution reflects on some experiences of research-action on one of the approaches that has proved most useful and that has produced very interesting results in the process of knowledge and design of urban space: the walkscapes. The experiences were carried out as didactic activities of the Master in Urban and Environmental Territorial Planning of the University of Palermo and the case study was that of some public housing districts in Palermo. The interaction between young students from schools and universities has shown how the idea of walking together through the streets of a neighborhood leads to considerations that arise from the analysis of urban contexts combined with the techniques of spatial analysis resulting from practices of active listening and inspections.
