In the field of higher education, assessment tools must be renewed and diversified,including specific technologies designed for assessment. This paper aims to enhance thereflection on those teaching practices that are most effective for the integration of newtechnologies for formative assessment and peer evaluation at university. In particular, wewant to check whether the evaluation forms based on the use of the Peergrade platform aremore effective in a face-to-face interaction teaching approach rather than on remoteinteractions between one lesson and the next one. The research is conducted on a sampleof 203 students attending the course of Experimental Pedagogy at the University ofPalermo and at the University of Catania and it uses a mixed methods researchmethodology in order to investigate the qualitative and quantitative differences betweenthe two teaching and evaluation approaches.
