Abstract
The exhibition - and its catalog - entitled "Ecclesia Triumphans. Architetture del Barocco siciliano attraverso i disegni di progetto XVII-XVIII secolo" (Caltanissetta, 2009) edited by M.R. Nobile, S. Rizzo, D. Sutera, grows out of the confluence of two different researches undertaken by Marco Nobile and his research group: the study of Sicilian church architecture in modern age, with particular reference to main church between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and the systematic patrol of all surviving project drawings that are kept in different archives, private collections and public authorities. The exhibition in Caltanissetta has in fact collected for the first time a considerable number of drawings and many wooden models, and has been conceived with tha aim to offer the public a first picture of the professions of architects in Sicily between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries before the topic of churches project.
