Abstract
The Misfits (Huston, 1961) is the last film interpreted by Marilyn Monroe. The film is a precious observation point to analyze the triple figure of Marilyn Monroe: the character, the actress, the woman. The Misfits is the clear attempt to deconstruct the image of a diva, through the crisis of her own character. This is the condensed artistic and creative parable of Marilyn Monroe and, simultaneously, the most obvious sign of the end of the great Hollywood film industry.
