In the 2016-2018 three-year period, the Italian teaching research was carried out on the teaching-learning process in three ways: the phenomenological analysis and the observation of thequantitative dimension of the educational reality; the construction of categories to interpret theconnections between teachers' actions and the changes observed in the learners; the formulationof principles and guidelines for the teaching practice. The themes of the teaching research carriedout in the period can be grouped into fourteen areas: university teaching, inclusive teaching,intercultural teaching, orientation teaching, metacognitive teaching, the collection and analysis ofteaching practices, new technologies for teaching and learning, pupils' evaluation, teachers' andschools' evaluation, personalized teaching, planning of training interventions, initial teachertraining, educational services for children, didactics of the disciplines. Because of the accumulationof the results of educational research, there is a need for sharing methodological procedureswithin the entire scientific community.
