Abstract

Cardiac tumors are rare. Cardiovascular imaging is moreimportant in the differential diagnosis of cardiac masses butno current noninvasive diagnostic tool has the ability toabsolutely diagnose cardiac tumors. In effect cardiac biopsyremains the gold standard in the differential diagnosis. Inour case we show the advantages of three-dimensional(3D) transesophageal echocardiography as a guide forcardiac biopsy. We believe that 3D TEE is ready to be used inthe guide of cardiac mass biopsy. Once interventionalistsbecome confident with 3D imaging, this technique shouldbe used routinely during these procedures.
