Abstract

The written describes the research and teaching experience of the Architectural Design Laboratories of third year that had as their objective the knowledge of places of great landscape value and architecture affected by migration phenomena such as the case of Lampedusa, gateway to Europe, the main immigration corridor.The island, at the center of the Mediterranean, is today a place of migratory flows, of men on the run from war, in search of new forms of sharing.The Laboratory, in fact through the numerous educational projects intends to give an answer through architecture for the places on the island, which can allow new forms of coexistence of being in the world.“It is possible that emigration will save the West, but not in a demographic sense, but preci- sely as a renewal of the right to stay in the world without being oppressed by thereligion, from reception, from communitarianism, from the geographical and family ties of those today flees from Tunisia, Eritrea, Bangladesh, Guinea and Syria looking for a future safer for themselves and their children but chasing the dream of a life less burdened by definitions constrictive of tradition and faith”.
