To address the energy crisis afflicting the contemporary city, recovery plans and retraining must mobilize new forms of intelligence and creativity that can be considered unusual "renewable energy sources" as well as the resilient ability of settlements.The article outlines these basic concepts that, within the framework of the PhD in Environmental and Building Recovery, can help to develop inter-disciplinary research involving urban planning and architectural technology.
