N2 - Management of water supply systems (WSSs) canbe effectively pursued by means of data processing techniquesbased on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) image mining. Thisapproach enables to collect different graphical representationsof WSS buried elements on the basis of which planningmaintenance interventions, with the objective of improving theoverall condition of the system. This paper proposes tosupport this kind of techniques by means of a multi criteriadecision making (MCDM) point of view. In particular, theELECTRE I method is suggested to treat results coming fromthe application of different techniques. A real case study isapplied with relation to a set of four alternatives, whichcorrespond to four GPR images obtained from the applicationof four data processing analyses. The most reliable GPRimage will be selected under the evaluation of differentlyweighted criteria, and this can offer significant information tooptimize maintenance management.
