In recent years Virtual Archaeology research activities were conducted in order to understand the urban and architecturaltransformations of Hierapolis. Five main lines of study were developed: (i) digital survey of the monuments, (ii) reconstructivestudy, (iii) digital analysis of data, (iv) 3D representation of the urban landscape and its evolution, (v) implementation of an onlineand offline platform. This paper discusses the main contributions these different activities made to the Marmora Phrygiae Projectas regards both the study of the monuments and the reconstruction of the urban image of the city.KEYWORDS: Virtual Archaeology, digital survey and restoration, quantitative analysis, 3D reconstruction, Hierapolis.
