The conjunct role of social, personality and clinical factors in predicting homonegativity

Risultato della ricerca: Otherpeer review

Abstract

Homonegativity (HN) refers to negative attitudes towards homosexuality, lesbians, and gay men. Few studies have investigated HN by combining the psychosocial and “clinical” factors, such as authoritarianism and neuroticism, with which it is associated. Past research indicates thatpersonality traits (Lingiardi et al., 2016), as well as experiences of authoritarianism (Altemeyer, 1998), render individuals prone to the development of HN. Conversely, past findings concerning attachment styles have been more controversial.
