Abstract
The ideas of time and space are not to be found in the whole cartographical production of all ti- mes. In some historical and geographical contexts, space was not represented as a linear metric unit, since other topics, such as the time needed to reach a place, were considered more impor- tant. By analyzing different maps of different times, I will compare some of the methods used by cartographers to represent the world they knew, in the light of ethno-cartography.
