Abstract

The European Unemployment Benefit Scheme (EUBS) is at introducing a form of European harmonisation of the domestic unemployment benefit systems. The EUBS is one of the most significant proposals that the EU institutions are currently negotiating with the Member States and social partners. The EUBS is in compliance with the TFUE and the Italian Constitution. The present investigation is a labor law scholars’ contribution to the politics under a double perspective. Firstly, the difficulties and the criticalities are studied having regard to the EU sources of law; secondly, the juridical technical conditions for removing obstacles in implementing the EUBS in the Italian system of social security are discussed.
