Abstract
The strategies that have been put in place over the past few years to "build" sustainable cities are confronted with environmental issues in different fields. Among these, mobility certainly plays a key role. For this reason, cities have for some time been drawing up plans for sustainable mobility, focusing on strengthening public transport and cycle paths. The city of Palermo, with a view to improving and integrating the various transport systems, has drawn up various infrastructure projects for cycle paths aimed at changing people's habits, with consequent environmental benefits. These projects have a strong impact on urban spaces, modifying their forms and uses. The paper intends to address one of the problems that is often highlighted by analyzing this strategy: the lack of systematization of the various projects and a poor integration with the design of public spaces involved in urban transformation.
