Abstract

The profound influence of mobile technologies on ways of thinking and knowledge management: trends, affordances and challenges. People have a clear idea of the cognitive processes underpinning multimedia tools and can control those processes accordingly. Usage of online social media like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, etc., is entrenching as a psychological and social phenomenon. Over 55 per cent of ‘Millennials’ have taken a selfie and shared it on social media and over 93 million selfies are taken each day leading to obsession. Selfie is a not-so-new but popular activity in social networking culture.
