Abstract
After some brief considerations on the development of the debate on the encounter/clash between science and humanities and on the need of a theoretical and epistemic/epistemological approach to these questions, this paper focuses on the specific aspect of the relationships between sciences and archaeology. Without the presumption to be exhaustive, the need of a multidisciplinary – or, better, interdisciplinary – approach linking archaeology and archaeometry (especially in the field of non-destructive analyses), physical anthropology, computer graphics and other disciplines and techniques related to an integrate study of cultural heritage is investigated pointing out the difficulties of dialogue among specialists of the two sectors. The question is examined from the point of view of the education (both of the archaeologists and technicians themselves and of the society) and the dissemination of scientific knowledge, in order to individuate new paths to the formation of further generations and new methodologies of research.
