Abstract
As part of minimally invasive surgery, robotic assisted approach is becoming increasing popular ingynecological oncology. It has been shown effective and feasible for staging and treat endometrial andcervical cancer, but its role in the context of primary and recurrent ovarian cancers is still debated.Scanty data are available from literature, and level of evidence supporting its use in ovarian cancer isquite low. However, from retrospective case control series robotic surgery seems a safe and feasibleapproach for early stage ovarian cancer. Its use for treating patients with advanced stage or relapsedovarian cancer is still highly controversial, suggesting the choice of robotic approach in a highlyselected population.
