Firstly, the author of this paper describes the educational methodologies used in some Italian researches in the last twenty years to help high school students to build their educational-professional life project; secondly, the phases and results of the first part of a research-intervention on guidance from high school to university carried out in the city of Palermo in the school year 2018-2019 are presented; thirdly, three training activities (expressive writing sessions, guidance interviews and School-University interdisciplinary workshops) planned during the second year are presented to allow high school students to test their university study interests, to reduce the gap between knowledges acquired by pupils at the end of high school and those required at the beginning of the University studies and to enhance their self-efficacy, self-image and decision making skill.
