Abstract
This paper explores the theme of the “pact with the devil” in two hagiographical short poems, «Theophilus» and «Basilius», composed about 960 by the Saxon nun Hrotsvitha of Gandersheim. In these poems, the theme in question is strictly related to the “conversion”, a topic that Hrotsvitha frequently deals with in her works.
