Palermo e il Piano Programma: morfologia e fenomenologia urbana

Risultato della ricerca: Articlepeer review

Abstract

This contribution starts from the hypothesis that particular contextual conditions (physical and cultural) of the places can structurally affect the specific methods of reading and knowledge in the different approaches to the project (starting from the training period of the architects). The city of Palermo is introduced as a reference area, physical and cultural, with respect to which a particular assumption of the themes of urban morphology has allowed, especially thanks to the action of Giuseppe Samonà, the definition of the "Piano Programma" for the Historic Center of Palermo: An interesting planning experiment, in many respects still relevant, in which analysis and design tend to coincide and in which the identification of urban characteristics, the demands of conservation and those of life prove to be able to virtuously coexist.
