N2 - Italy, like other countries, has accepted, both in its social and legal contexts, new family forms which have aroused bewilderment in some segments of the population; unmarried, homosexual, mixed couples are just a few examples that have created unease especially in single adults, in elderly population or in more conservative people. Criticism or doubts, firstly regard educational capacity of contemporary families, which are formed, evolve, expand, divide and disappear. They are, however, transformations that do not compromise the social value of family or the level of the individual well-being; on the contrary it becomes appropriate to depathologize differences respecting other people’s needs, decisions or sexual orientation.
