Note corologiche e problematiche di conservazione in Sicilia su Stipa austroitalica Martinovský subsp. appendiculata (Čelak.) Moraldo (Poaceae).

A survey on distribution, ecology and status of Sicilian population of Stipa austroitalica subsp. appendiculata was carried out on the basis of literature, herbarium data and field investigations. Some sites, obtained by historicalreferences, were confirmed, while others resulted to be new findings located in Pizzo Cervo (S. Cristina Gela), Monte Balatelle (Marineo), Serre di Rebuttone (Altofonte) and Pizzo Selva a Mare (Trabia). The threats and current protection measures allow the authors to point out the need of conservation of this entity, in accordance with Habitat Directive issue (43/92/CEE).
