Abstract
In this paper we describe the relationships between twofundamental “cognitive gestures” of human beings: naming andcounting. In particular, we try to define these relationships byexamining the theoretical efforts of such authors as Euclide,Frege, Wittgenstein, Chomsky and Aristotle. The analysis iscentered around justifying the mutual dependence between nounand number in human cognition.
