Abstract

This study investigates the relevance of legal scholarship to courts in U.S.by examining the citation of law review articles by courts. The first avenue ofinvestigation is empirical and makes use of several studies on the field providingempirical support for a decrease in citation to legal scholarship in the lastpart of twentieth century. A second theoretical avenue evaluates different explanationsfor this decline.
