N2 - The essay aims to deepen the themes of travel and pilgrimage through the analysis of literary writing and the multifaceted meanings that the two experiences, that of travel and pilgrimage, represent. Travel is also the expression of direct observation, one of the most important methods of geographical investigation that allows from an early age to acquire the ability to study the landscape, the environment and the individual-nature relationship. It provides input for reflection, stimulates questions, raises questions, even poses questions of global importance. The object of the journey, understood as an experience of knowledge, is often the landscape, for Geographers a concept as complex as fascinating.
