Lavoro e sicurezza sociale dei migranti economici: l'eguaglianza imperfetta

The essay analyses under a multilivel approach the social rights of immigrants for economic reasons in Italy on the grounds of the principles of equality and non-discrimination having regard to the access to the labour market, execution of the contract of employment, and social security benefits. Under a fundamental rights perspective the legal framework is very weak: it is extremely difficult to legally enter into the host country. Moreover, in the sector of social security the principle of non-discrimination suffers several exceptions recently legitimated by the Constitutional Court (i.e., in the judgement on minimum income guaranted), impeding the creation of a model of citinzenship really inclusive.
