The contemporary city is a heterogeneous reality created by a set of different and discontinuous environments in which time of time and human action are made explicit. As environments are configured as urban voids, interstitial spaces located in various ways within cities consisting of historical centers, disused industrial areas, suburban residential complexes, to which are added the many abandoned buildings and spaces. The presence of a considerable number of disused buildings in the city poses several questions that are difficult to give univocal answers, namely: the quality of these abandoned buildings, their meaning and the reasons why they should be maintained. Do you therefore intervene in the places of abandonment? Do you return a role, a sense, a form compatible with the reality present in these places? Alberto Ferlenga writes about the reuse project as an old story of transmissions, through time, of artifacts and success. «The possibility that what exists is the main terrain of application of the new is without a doubt an imperative of our age [...]. Recycling parts of the city should provide an opportunity to reflect [...] on howthe adaptation through additions or additions of architecturally obsolete but structurally intact buildings can change the appearance and livability of entire neighborhoods» (Ferlenga, 2015, 50-51). The goal of the contribution is indeed to highlight that the reuse project - on the architectural scale - has encouraged the transformation of places, as it was conceived as a precursor and the insertion of new building elements in a continuous osmotic dialogue.
