Abstract
The analysis conducted on one of Leonardo Sciascia's three theatrical texts, L'Onorevole (1965), is addressed here with the tools of pragmalinguistics and also includes the study of captions. Although the work was not successful either during the period of its publication or subsequently, it presents all the characteristics of Sciascia's vision of the political world - corruption and the role of intellectuals in politics. The text also presents an interesting metatheatral perspective, with the fall of the fourth wall at the end of the third act, in which reality, theater and cinema are confused.
