Abstract

In a historical moment in which, in Italy, planning schools are undergoing important structural rethinking, the paper wants to think about the need for a reformulation of such schools by strengthening the relationship with the practices that daily affect people's lives, both technical and spontaneous. The thesis is derived from some personal experiences that for some years now, in a coordinated way and within the didactics of the Master's degree course in Urban and Environmental Territorial Planning of the University of Palermo, tries to bring students to plan on the territory, for the territory and with the territory.The training of future planners is now more important than ever to face the countless challenges that the territory is called to solve. These challenges are changing every day, becoming bigger and more demanding, involving more and more disciplines.
