This essay intends to analyze the ways in which the production of specific knowledge and knowledge contributes to defining ideal and, therefore, normative bodies. Through reflection on thematic issues - such as "race", gender, sexuality as well as bodily ability - we intend to provide tools for understanding how societies produce "normal bodies" and "deviant bodies" and on which ideological assets the aforementioned distinction is based, taking into account the main research and intervention themes developed within the Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on Bodies, Rights, Conflicts of the Culture and Society Department of the University of Palermo.
