The incompleteness summarizes most of the physical and intangible features of the architectural heritage. It produces two main consequences: the high vulnerability of the built heritage and the difficulties in understanding it. This theme also provides a key to understanding some critical situation in the processes of knowledge, conservation and enhancement on the architectural heritage. The earthen vestiges in Solunto provide an example of these critical conditions. Some strategies will be outlined to face the urgent need to confront the quickly decaying of most earthen bricks, by now no longer protected by the original structure, due the current condition of incompleteness.
