Abstract
If it is not entirely appropriate to talk of Karol Wojtyla as a pedagogue, nevertheless his figure was eminently that of an educator. This essay proposes a reading of the whole corpus of his writings as educational. Thus juxtaposed, these works look poignantly topical at a time that historians might define as a “late period”.As an educator, Wojtyla may help us to reflect on this transitional time; to consider the critical issues of post-modernity; but also, by embracing them, interpreting modernity as an incomplete humanisation enterprise. This is epitomised by the anthropological category of personal education as a generative involvement.
