Abstract
The construction of the Montedison factory on the river Platani, built in 1957-60 to produce potassium sulfate, corresponds to the foundation of a real industrial city with paraboloids that have the dimensions of cathedrals, imposing cooling towers, artificial reservoirs, a village with residences and a church. These abandoned spaces (since 1978) are still available today to the invention of a possible city based on environmental ethics and the enhancement of its architecture.
