N2 - The soil description may start with remote sensing, followed by the identification of the landscape unit, and the determination of the chemical-physical characteristics. These latter are those routine analyses that are necessary and (supposed) able to identify the soil essential characteristics. Nowadays more effective descriptors such as biochemical and trace metals are analytically available with the modern techniques. In our case-study, the sensibility of the response to the anthropic disturbance ranks the classes of descriptors as rare-earths < metals < chemical descriptors < biochemical descriptors. Field soil morphology descriptors have given no significant informations
