Abstract
In this essay I address the relationship between humans and animals from an epistemological point of view in order to outline an ecological, ethical and educational framework within which to insert the current debate. After a brief historical and philosophical excursus, I then present the zooanthropological perspective. It is part of those studies, inaugurated by Darwinism and continued in the ethological and neuroscientific research , which brought us closer to the knowledge of animal otherness and, in parallel, to the consideration of the interconnections between all living beings.Considering the educational level, I then deepen the value of the relationship between children and animals, also reflecting on the role of adults with respect to the development of an empathic attitude towards animal otherness and, more generally, any otherness
