“Contemporary city” and “urban reformulation” represent a whole which continuous studies and in-depth synthesis in the terms of their relations; hence possible future scenarios are needed to become more transparent and explicit. The contemporary city calls into question a variety of settlement patterns that defies logical interpretation consistent, different based on sedimentation of stories and social paths; and in various ways distributed through a territory of historical centers, former industrial areas, and peripheral residential complexes. It seems necessary to evaluate what are the languages most appropriate and effective architectural research to intersect the disruptive and impetuous metamorphosis of the contemporary landscape, today.Today despite being essential to formulate new architectures to experience new languages, we tend to create architectures so as to be apparent and amaze, which makes the collage settlement mechanism preferred reflecting the fragmented and broken reality.Currently, multitude of signs could not process places able to define systems of space corresponding to the expectations of dwelling. The question arises of how we come to housing (Building, Dwelling, Thinking - paper by Heidegger). The answer begins from the definition of the term that means: to remain, to stay; in fact it comes to housing to build a better future."To think, draw, and build the architecture need to be known. Known means that inhabit for the first step [...] to assess how it addresses the proof of context".The architecture reaches its reality through the building material, it is then obliged to interact with the framework that will accommodate the future building. On that account the architecture should aspire to be appropriate, through the character recognition of the place and the discernment of what is to be maintained, eliminated or enhanced, and what will occur in the new reality that will emerge after the construction. The architectural project with the urban planning should, therefore, be an opportunity to uncover the sense of history of the city through the study of its permanence, modifications, and recent interventions; referring to the connections between architecture and the city through a path of knowledge necessary for a coherent transformation.
