Il capitale territoriale e la crisi: un'analisi provinciale per l'Italia Centro-Meridionale

Risultato della ricerca: Article

Abstract

Analyses on the consequences of the present crisis are mainly focused on national and international scale. Differential effects of the crisis on regional and sub-regional areas are neglected. This paper focuses on territorial capital in the effort of better defining which regional characteristics may be considered as strategic for measuring the absorption capacity of the region vis-à-vis the great recession. A large data set on central and southern Italian provinces will be used in trying to measure the empirical relationship between territorial capital and performance change at province (NUTS3) level by looking at how the territorial capital endowment may have influenced different reactions at a sub-regional scale and, conversely, by argumenting about the way in which the recession can affect territorial capital in different areas. The paper examines the relationship between territorial capital and performance at sub-regional level (NUTS3, Italian provinces) in the period 1999-2011 with reference to changes in export and employment
