Il BIM nella Progettazione Sostenibile

Risultato della ricerca: Conference contribution

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an integrated design system that uses parametric modeling techniques, linking each building element to a description of the geometric characteristics, employed materials, production costs, etc. However, it is also a human activity, that is causing considerable process modifications in the construction industry. The paper presents the results of a study that has developed by the Degree Course in Ingegneria Edile –Architettura at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, about the potential and the limits that BIM can determine for energy saving. Through the analysis of a study case, on the improvement of indoor comfort obtainable from the controlled management of the solar radiation, we have been addressed any typological aspects, performance, technological, implementation and cost incidence. By the application of dedicated computing software we have simulated different conditions based on the selected solutions, using certain accounting policies and calculation of benefits aimed at obtaining the maximum energy saving in relation to the relevant legislative landscape. The study lies in a construction setting of great innovation, in which the BIM is increasingly applied. The goal has been to evaluate the new processes that are changing the design, construction and management of buildings, about the aspects of building sustainability.
