Abstract

The work introduces the "reflective function" as a conceptual model through which to conceive the work well-being/malaise in terms of epiphenomenon of specific modes of operating of the organizational system. The "reflective function" of organizations does not belong to the rational competence of thought, it is not only an individual fact neither, above all, can be considered a normal and usual assumption of organizational functioning; rather, it is an important exception that must be patiently built and monitored every day, at all levels of the organization, from the managerial to the operational roles.
