N2 - Today on television there is a whole invasion of serial products: generalist TV, thematic channels and non-linear platforms do nothing but feed us episodes after episodes ready to be savored day after day or enjoyed in one breath. Following a way of telling thatit is certainly not new: it is enough to recall, among the antecedents, folkloric texts, feuilleton and photo novels - just to name a few. All productssharing a common destiny: that of appearing on the market as forms of popular culture and Serie B, to then acquire atheir identity and dignity - literary, theatrical, media in general. Investigating seriality in a broad sense therefore means considering theseries as a succession, a complex of texts connected in some way that proceeds, in fragments, by progressive accumulation. Because seriality is ultimately a way of giving shape to content, regardless not only of the subject matter but also of the expressive substance used (print media, cinema, audiovisual etc.). This is why the volume talks about TV series and chansons de geste, photo novels and comics, literary tales and puppet works, forms of seriality that from the past reach our contemporaneity.
