Abstract
This essay is founded on the classical, late and medieval sources of «Alda», latin elegiac comedywritten by William of Blois about 1169-1170. Particularly, after a general presentation of the comedyand a critical revue of the studies and the editions, the dissertation looks at the suggestions of Terence,Vergil, Horace, Ovid, Statius, the «Aegritudo Perdicae», Maximian, Boethius, Hildebert of Lavardin, someelegiac comedies of XIIth century (Vitalis of Blois’ «Geta» and «Aulularia», «Pamphilus», Arnulf of Orléans’ «Lidia») and the “oriental” novellistic tradition («Mischle Sendebar»).
