Fonti per la storia del Manicomio di Palermo alla Vignicella (1884-1902)

The text traces the steps that led to the construction of one of the largest public health works built in Palermo in the 19th century. Through the identification and analysis of the main nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century sources, while dealing with the most recent periegetic literature, some fixed points are established with respect to the design and execution of the works, as well as, nevertheless, in relation to scientific conception on which they were founded. The period images accompany the text in an illustrative and documentary sense.
