Abstract
Camouflage was a strategic technique used during the Second World War mainly in California but aslo elsewhere. It consisted in a massive operation on the landscape. The essay analyses its architectural relevance both as a land art action and as a landscape architecture action. Its implication with the notion of mimesis is also treated.
