Abstract

The essay discusses the research paths of Edwin M. Lemert and their influence on most of the subsequent works on the subject of deviance, starting with the less discussed works in our academic context thatthey find fulfillment and mature elaboration in Deviance, social problems and forms of control. We will try to reconstruct the intellectual profile of the scholar, some aspects of his biography useful for outlining the development of the approaches and research themes and, in particular, we will deepen, in particular, apparently "minor" research and analysis that restore greater complexity to the figure of this scholar.
