Our thesis is that university education has to contribute to cultural growth of the new designer, who has to be able to operate to the real world concretely and critically. Historically, the best schools of de- sign have deepened their relationship with industry and the business world. In this perspective, who writes has developed some briefs of project with corporations in order to support research and didactics, in Palermo. This strategy has recently been re-launched at the na- tional level through the formula Design&Territori, a conference-ex- hibition of 110 projects (of students), designed in 18 university lab- oratories of 12 different universities and realized by 40 Italian (and non-Italian) companies: Palermo 2018.
