There have beennumerous experiences in Italy over thelast decade, but they have not alwaysproduced positive and concrete results.Although procedures of internationalstanding might refer to consolidatedguide-lines, in most cases, on the localscale, the level of attention is insufficientto ensure ubiquitous quality in results.Participation in the work on the part of ajury, was welcomed as a useful opportunityto try out an approach, outsidethe academic sphere, based aroundthe technological culture of design.Whatever the limitations of a local environment,it was felt that the experiencemight take on a generalizable significance,in contributing to thinking aboutthe demand for quality as a preconditionto the effectiveness of processes,an objective that is more indispensablethan ever, and for which the public sectorclient has strategic roles and responsibilities.
