Abstract
The purpose of this paper is a quantitative and qualitative investigation into the study of onomatopoeic sounds, which can be uncovered in the French and Italian versions of Mickey Mouse. This survey will take place through a comparison between the French and Italian stories and, at the same time, by a focus on onomatopoeic sounds as the concrete signs of the use of informal language. French Corpus: Le journal de Mickey from 1934 (number 1) to 1937 (7 numbers) and Picsou (from 1977 to 1984), about 60 stories.Italian Corpus; Nel Regno di Topolino from 1936 to 1939 (8 comics) and Topolino (from 1977 to 1979, 8 comics) about 70 stories.
