Abstract
The understanding of the reasons for which legislator selected the contract as the most appropriate way to incur obligations is necessary in order to identify the different elements which distinguish the «contratto con obbligazioni del solo proponente» from unilateral promises. Is therefore necessary to understand the function and the structure of both – unilateral promises and 1333 c.c. institution – in order to get the connections between them: this comprehension will allow us to ascertain if the scheme established by article 1333 c.c. can be used for hiring those commitments that the wording of article 1987 c.c. seems to prohibit.
