Confine: unione vs separazione

Risultato della ricerca: Article

Abstract

Talking about borders and citizenship makes us reflect on how complex it can be to give a univocal definition of the term border and that does not take into account the different cultural contexts and disciplinary fields. The debate around this term, which is often linked to that of separation, makes us reflect on how a simple concept of line, even imaginary, can trigger evaluations and insights on the term itself as on others that are often used as synonyms or related to it. Boundary, therefore, is a complex, articulated, discussed, controversial term, sometimes dangerous. But it is precisely by discussing it, outside of narrow disciplinary boundaries, that it will be possible to recover the true meaning of the term, its value, avoiding exploiting it for ends alien to it.
