Confin(at)i Mediterranei e Afroamericani. Una performance geografica sulla disumanizzazione

Risultato della ricerca: Chapter

Studying the Mediterranean question only within the university spaces is not enough to allow us to return to public opinion a multifaceted reality that is proposed with a single password: invasion. The performance of And Europe dehumanized itself has allowed me to present a story of slaves and fugitives for a wider audience. Focused on Toni Morrison’s book, Beloved, it bounces between the effects of the stories of the Black Atlantic and those of today’s Mediterranean. This essay aims to trace some directions that can help investigate the different borderlines that mark the roughness of our globe’s modernity. To do this, it tries to answer to three fundamental questions: can we speak of a national political space that takes universal rights into account?Consequently, can we talk about ethics when we analyse migration? And finally, can we talk about migration as an umbrella term?
